Mountainview Recycling has come to the San Tan area with curbisde recycling! For a nominal monthly fee, they will bring you a bin and you can get all your recycleables taken away. Simple, convenient and inexpensive. Contact them at MountainViewRecycling.com.
We are also working with 41pounds.org to reduce the amount of junk mail you received. 41 pounds is the approximate amount of junk mail each of us receives in a year. At 41pounds.org, they do the legwork for you for a low fee to eliminate your junk mail. A generous portion of your tax deductable fee is donated to the PRIDE to further our efforts to beautify our community, 41pounds at a time! Sign up at the link throughout this website.
The TJ Pappas School is a special place for homeless children to be educated in a safe and secure environment free from competition and ridicule. We have hosted several rides with the Pappas School children. Many of the children have never even seen a horse, let alone ridden one. Our trail rides have been quite sucessful for teaching the kids not to give up on their dreams and to see the beauty of the desert. Everyone leaves with a smile and a better sense of self. Our wonderful community comes out of volunteer with us, bringing horses, food or craft supplies to round out the day.
The PRIDE in conjuction with extremely generous businesses and residents of the community erected a memorial to all Fallen Arizona Servicemen and women. This memorial was inspired by the loss of one of Queen Creek's own sons in Iraq, Robert Nathaniel Martens. The San Tan Mountains Regional Park was a place he often hiked and enjoyed during his youth. It is now the home to a memorial for ALL Arizonans who gave their lives during the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.
Now that the Memorial is completed, tasks turn to maintenance of the site. More funds are needed to ensure that this memorial always looks its best and includes the growing list of names of the Fallen Heroes. If you would like to contribute or participate in fundraising events, please contact us.
